Instead of continuing their tour, One Republic chose to hit up the recording studio again. Their 2007 album “Dreaming Out Loud” was a huge success and the band has grown a lot from the fame. There aren’t many details yet, but you can count on a late 2009 release date.

Here’s Mark Hoppus recording part of a verse than a chorus to an unreleased plus 44 song. The riff’s sound pretty catchy so far from what we can see in the video. Despite Barkers injuries, the new album is likely to come out in late 2009. Check out Hoppus’ YouTube Channel.

“I didn’t stop writing since the last record,” Shinoda told Rolling Stone. “They’ve seen the stuff on my hard drives. I’ve got a lot of material, and I know the other guys have a good amount of stuff too. It’s going to be fun.” Linkin Park started recording their follow up album to Minutes to Midnight last week in Las Angeles. Chester wil be coming out with a solo album by this years end.

Bono says U2 is at an all time high in writing and would hate to end it just to get this new album out. He was quoted as saying “This is our chance to defy gravity once again” in his interview with Rolling Stone. They have haved 50 to 60 songs already written according to Bono. I bet it will be hard to choose the 12-20 for the album out of that many songs. Opinions?

Jerry suffered from a brain hemorrhage in July of this year which put him into a coma. It began to gradually get worse, and a few weeks ago his family decided to take him off life support. He died on August 2st at age 39. Jerry produced and worked with bands like Blink 182, Morrissey, Green Day, Sum 41, and many others. Jerry will truly be remembered as a legend in the music industry. We wish his family and friends all the best as they get through this tough time.
