Oasis gets the boot from China

Interesting word from the east says that Oasis is banned from playing China this April because of their political stand on Tibet. The order has left the band and their management very confused because all the details had been worked out. This was not some sort of political activism show, it was going to be a normal show.
“Oasis are extremely disappointed that they are now being prevented from undertaking their planned tour of mainland China and hope that the powers that be within China will reconsider their decision and allow the band to perform to their Chinese fans at some stage in the future,” the statement reads.
It was going to be the bands first show ever in China. Can we hope for a Chinese Democracy in the future?

Bruce Springsteen touring the US starting in April

A couple months after they headline Super Bowl XLIII on Feb. 1st, Springsteen and the E street band will be kicking off their North American tour. The tour begins April 1st in San Jose, see the dates below. Bruce Springsteen has been very political the last few years, giving him even more reach to his fans. Springsteen performed live at Barack Obama ‘s Inaugural celebration.

Bon Jovi mad at politicians for using his song… Thoughts?

TMZ reported today that Bon Jovi is upset with the McCain Campaign for using his song “Home” at rallies and events. He, along with many other artists, call for them to stop using their music. I’m not sure if you can sue for this type of thing. It’s all about who owns the music, do the record labels? or do the musicians? One thing is for sure if these musicians keep coming out saying the McCain can’t use any music than we might be witnessing silent McCain Palin events. What do you think about the situation? Is it just another way for musicians to support their candidate or do they have a serious reason to be mad?
Beastie Boys to plan “Get Out and Vote”

We’ve seen musicians make last second political efforts time and time again. This time around the Beastie Boys, who have endorsed Barack Obama for president, have planned a mini tour entitled “Get Out and Vote.” The tour consists of known artists Sheryl Crow, Norah Jones, Jack Johnson, Ben Harper, Tenacious D, David Crosby, and Gram Nash. It kicks off October 28th.

We know for sure that musicians Sheryl Crow, Will.i.am, Jennifer Hudson, Michael McDonald, and Stevie Wonder will be there jamming out but word around the street says there’s going to be a surprise after Barack Obama’s speech at 10:00 (Eastern Time). Will we see the boss? Maybe he’ll bring Bon Jovi with him? No one knows for sure, we can only guess, everything is all hear/say until tonight. stay tuned people!
