Aubrey O’Day from Danity Kane gotten to Wild?
Sep 18th
Some people are loving it and others are hating it. The talk around Danity Kane seems to be is Aubrey O’Day getting a little out of control? Should Diddy try to put some sense into her or let her be? We all remember Aubrey from MTV’s Making the Band. After the show ended and the group Danity Kane was formed Aubrey has gotten a little less camera shy. This is only one of many photos she has recently released. Find more about Aubreys wild side on complex.com.
The End of MTV’s TRL
Sep 18th

We all have at least some memory of seeing Carson Daly and numerous celebrities exciting the streets of New York. After Total Request Live’s 10th anniversary on This past Sunday, MTV announce that the show will be no more. The last airing of the show is set for November and will be a 2 hour special. My guess is that there will be TRL memories and surprise performances. This is the end of an era for MTV, or maybe the beginning, i guess we’ll find out.
Where to find new artists? MTV
Aug 28th
Today it seems like everyone and their mother is starting a band. Cool right? Well it can be when you find some you like but you have to decipher through a lot of junk to get there. MTV keeps close tabs on these new up rising stars. They look through “singer-songwriters, garage bands, rookie rappers, parlor poppers and wannabe stars” to find the ones that are worth listening too. So if you wanna hear some new tunes try MTV’s New Artists.
We Interview Roi From “The Material”
Jan 30th
[digg=http://digg.com/music/SerTop_Interviews_Roi_from_The_Material]

I just caught up with Roi, who is the one of the guitar players in the band “The Material.” They are a very talented five-piece band that hails from the west! If you haven’t heard of them yet, definitely check them out. Below is the interview….Enjoy!
So, what’s the history of The Material? How long have you guys officially been together, how’d you all meet?
Jon and Colleen met in high school after being introduced by their mutual friend Mike (singer of Halifax). Colleen migrated to San Diego to pursue a Music degree at SDSU and Jon followed a little later. Noah was a friend of Colleen’s that she had met at work. The three of them began practicing with Kevin Faulk (Every Time I Die) on bass. Kevin eventually left and they found Brian and I through the wonderful world of craigslist. The Material has been together for 2 years total the current line up since Feb 2007.
What’s your writing process? Is it always this way?
We are still finding our niche as a songwriting team. Lately it has been working well with Me or Jon bringing in complete song ideas and showing them to everyone else. Then, we all add our parts and ideas. Still, this is not an exact science…
Do you use any FX at your live shows? If so what kind?
We use a lot of effects for our guitars. Delay, reverb, phase, univibe, chorus, wah, ring modulator…we are no Mars Volta but, we use what is necessary to be sonically pleasing.
What would your dream show be, if you could play with any band at any venue?
Jimmy Eat World, Foo Fighters, & the Material. This show could be at my house and it would still be amazing! More >
