No Doubt, Dave Matthews, Flo Rida playing ‘Today’ Show Concerts

NBC’s Today show will celebrate it’s 14th annual concert series this summer in NYC. They will be featuring over 15 performances from May 1st till August 28th. The performances are by No Doubt, Dave Matthews, Flo Rider, The All American Rejects, Katy Perry – just to name a few.
This brings back memories of that Matt Lauer / Tom Cruise interview…

Jack Johnson, Coldplay to perform at Australia Bushfire Benefit

On March 14th the Bushfire Benefit will be poppin and the Aussies are sure to get a good show. The line up is Coldplay, Kings of Leon, Jack Johnson and Midnight Oil. The show is scheduled to take place in Sydney and Melbourne , Australia. This means the concert will most likely be split down the middle as far as performances go. This will be one hell of a live concert and a great way to raise some money.
All the profits from the Melbourne show will be donated to the Red Cross Victorian Bushfire Appeal, while money raised from the Sydney concert will be split 50-50 to benefit the bushfire appeal and the Premier’s Disaster Relief Fund Appeal in Queensland, in support of victims of the Queensland floods. – Billboard.

Motley Crue Tour will be off the hook says band

When asked why Mötley Crüe chose an unknown band for their new tour in an interview with Rolling Stone, Vince Neil says “Kiss took us out when we were just playing clubs, and then when Ozzy took us out it really broke Mötley Crüe. Those bands took chances on us. So why not give back and take a chance with a new unknown band?” Neil told the Stones reporter that anyone who goes to the concert will be sure to see a lot of “eye candy” and “theatrics”. Motley Crue kicks off their tour with The Last Vegas in early 2009.

Smashing Pumpkins recently played two shows in New York’s United Palace Theater. They were shows filled with emotion from Billy Corgan and Jimmy Chamberlin, who have been working over two decades together on music. They are hitting up 7 more cities before the anniversary tour comes to an end.
Barack Obama’s Pres. Inauguration to be Filled with Musicians

Good times ahead…On January 20th, when president Obama gets elected there will be a cluster of different musicians performing. Usually a president will pick a main act (9 times out of ten its a country singer) and call it good. My hope is that Obama picks 5 or 6 musical guest. I’ll keep you posted on the Inaugural party.
Foo Fighters rock out for Blackberry Storm

The Foo Fighters, along with Queens of the Stone Age rocked out at a promotional event for the new Blackberry Storm touch screen phone. Although it was a promo event, the Foo Fighters front man -Dave Grohl – told the fans “Ladies and gentlemen, don’t be fooled,” he shouted,” we’re having a rock concert.”
