Lil Wayne and Rock Music – Rolling Stone
Apr 1st

“The rock shit just comes from what my life is now,” Lil Wayne, 26, says. “I’ve grown into this person.” Wayne says he got tired of living the rap life-“I just got — I’m not going to say ’so good’ at what I was doing, but it became such a regularity for me that I got tired of it. And then I said, ‘You know what? I’m not going to rap on this one.’ ”
We’ve only heard one song from Lil Waynes upcoming rock album, will the others follow this pattern?
Axl Rose Interview
Feb 12th

When talking to Billboard about a possible reunion between himself and Slash, Axl said the following:
In regards to Slash, I read a desperate fan’s message about, what if one of us were to die and looking back I had the possibility of a reunion now, blah blah blah. And my thoughts are, “Yeah, and while you’re at the show your baby accidentally kicks a candle and burns your house down, killing himself and the rest of your family.”
Give me a fucking break. What’s clear is that one of the two of us will die before a reunion and however sad, ugly or unfortunate anyone views it, it is how it is. Those decisions were made a long time ago and reiterated year after year by one man.

Sep 11th

Dream In Stereo, a band that hails from Southeast Michigan, really give their all when it comes to live shows and writing music. Their upbeat pop-punk style music is enough to make anyone want to dance. They are currently working on recording vocals for some songs that will be on their MySpace as soon they are complete. I talked to Dream In Stereo, read the interview below.
So, what’s the history of Dream in Stereo? How long have you guys officially been together, how’d you all meet?
The lineup that we have as of now has been together since June. Ryan and Anthony were in the “original” Dream In Stereo and then they dropped the old drummer and guitarist and picked up Blake and Eric. This has been the line up so far.
What’s your writing process? Is it always this way?
We all sit down and throw together our basic ideas and then leads are written, then we just practice and do touch ups. It’s not always this way though.
Do you use any FX at your live shows? If so what kind?
Nope.
What would your dream show be, if you could play with any band at any venue?
Blake- Warped Tour
Anthony- Blink-182 at the Hayloft
Eric- Warped Tour
Ryan- Senses Fail anywhere
If The Dream in Stereo could do one thing to change the world, what would it be?
Party.
Anyone got a favorite TV show or movie?
Superbad excluding Eric who likes American Beauty.
Would you like to tell any of your fans anything special that’s going on?
We’re announcing our new vocalist, recording our EP in October, playing shows for the rest of the year, and keep an eye out for us coming to your town on tour this spring.
And thank you for everyone that came out to our shows and talked with us.

A Chat With Der Bomber(UK)
Jul 6th
A few weeks ago we featured Der Bomber on the blog. Lately, they’ve been pretty busy watching the Euro 2008 soccer games and getting deep into songwriting sessions. However, now since Euro 2008 is over and Spain won
, they were able to answer a few of our questions.
Haven’t heard Der Bomber? Press play, sit back and enjoy the chat.

Der Bomber, is that German?
‘der bomber’ is indeed a German name, literally meaning ‘the bomber’, it was a nickname attributed to a 70′s German footballer called gerd muller who had a phenomenal goalscoring record, the name is a nod to all of us who support lower league clubs and christen our treasured star striker with the name (eg nicky ‘der bomber’ maynard), our politics our probably summed up in that concept, pride in squalor.
Who are you rooting for in Euro 2008?
I watched euro 2008 as a complete neutral but enjoyed watching Holland the most.
Your songs have a load of energy! Have your songs always been this energetic?
‘hard and fast’ has always been the rationale, i believe we are still yet to hit our top gear. the energy and passion are derived from the fact that we mean absolutely every word we say, chord we play, we were once described as ‘viciously intelligent’, that’s the best description of der bomber i’ve heard.
My favorite is “Swimming of Sinking.” What is this song about? More >
A Overview of “The OverUnder”
Jun 11th
Who out there happens to be from New York? We’ll if you’re one of the ones from Long Island New York then you may get the chance to see “The Overunder” live. This band came together last April and already have collected a rather impressive fan base. “With a boatload of determination, energetic live shows and songs that will most likely be stuck in your head for days, “The OverUnder” is showing no signs of going away anytime soon.” These five guys have some very great songs make sure to check out “Circles and Squares” or visit them on myspace.
Inside with “Pillar of Autumn”
May 14th
As I said before “Pillar of Autumn” is a unbelievable band, this guys are kicken ass all over Detroit. They’ve taken off with some out standing songs like “Asthma” which took #1 Detroit City.com Also make sure to check out “Miles Away” and “Carpe Diem” on myspace. We had the chance to talk these guys and learn a little more about them and there history. Check it out.
“Pillar of Autumn” is an awesome name, does is stand for anything?
The name came from the name of a spaceship in the video game Halo. We decided to use the name because of the influence the game has had on the creative process of the band. When we find ourselves stuck in a song, playing each other in first person shooters is something that helps us clear our heads. Except for when Rob cheats. He always knows where to hide and find the good weapons. Alright, maybe he’s just really good… but we’ll still call it cheating.
Spencer: “Rob Wishes he was as good at me at Halo.”
Rob (replying to Spencer): “Spencer wishes he was as good as me at anything.”
Know how your working on a six song ep, when can we look forward to its release?
We are currently in pre-production and are finalizing dates to get back in the studio to record the final tracks. So we’re shooting for late summer but we haven’t settled on the year yet.
You guys come up with some amazing lyrics, what’s the writing process like?
Our writing process is quite crazy. We usually begin by jamming out melodies or rhythms that the band members have written that have caught our attention. Rob brings most of the musical elements to the table in the beginning, then we try to take the mess of parts and make it better. We repeat that until we find something that inspires us. Once we find that inspiration the song takes off. If we get lost, we look to each other to help out. Every member in the band can play all of the instruments we play enough to help with any part; it’s a team effort to the fullest. Then when Frankie says it sucks, we try it all over again.
