Modlife Premium Account – Blink 182 Fans Enraged
Here’s a question: should you have to pay for cool content from a band or musician? Answer: You shouldn’t. In fact you shouldn’t even have to pay a dime to services like Modlife, because the fact is there is only like 12 bands on the thing. Why do that when you can go to MySpace and get all kinds of cool content? I’ll tell you why- because of Tom Delonge’s ego and wanting to create something that is going to change the music forever. Well Tom, paying $2.99/month for a Modlife premium account just to read your blog posts doesn’t make anyone happy, just letting you know.
To all the Blink 182 Fans, lets start a riot.
If you need alternatives check out Mark Hoppus’ Blog. Plus you’ll get plenty of updates, PLENTY. The guy does twitter like 20 times a day.

This is pretty amazing, reminds of of the good ole Aerosmith / Run DMC days. The best part about 50 Cent and Fall Out Boy playing shows is going to be the diverse crowd. So often we go to shows and we look around and see the same people, this will be a chance for

Say What? Yeah, you heard me right. Michael Mayer, director of Broadway’s Spring Awakening, and Green Day decided to get together for a musical. The entire theatrical production will be based off of Green Day’s American Idiot. “It doesn’t make a lot of sense,” front man Billie Joe Armstrong told the NYT, “but that’s what

Umm, dude in case you forgot:
modlife subscriptions come with your own page
comes with blogs and videos as well as podcasts
and lets not forget live video feeds from the band members
free payperview concerts on tours
free access to meet and greets
and free chats with band members
The sub not only pays for the access but keeps it from getting too crowded so you can interact with the band.
Definately worth it than some myspace page.
You’ve obviously never even looked at modlife.

Ben,
The point of this article is that Blink 182 fans are mad that they have to pay to see Tom stream a video update. They don’t care about blogs, video, angels and airwaves, or anything else. Some blink fans just want to be able to see Tom’s blog but he sets them to premium status because he’s trying to grow ModLife. Guess what Tom, if the sponsor ads aren’t generating you a enough income than take them off. Free content is key, no matter what.
Enough said.

While Tom does charge to have a premium account he also just released his last album for free. Modlife is meant to help artists.
