Will your iPod make you Deaf?

You like being able to hear? Wanna give up your iPod? Yea me either. There have been many studies of MP3 players being a prime cause of hearing loss. A new study from the European Union’s Scientific Committee on Emerging and Newly Identified Health Risks says that up to 10% of users may develop permanent hearing loss due to listening to their music too loud. In the end it’s in your control how loud you want to listen to your music. I want your opinions… Do you have an MP3 player? If so, is your hearing getting a little messed up?
Hoobastank to roll out new album in January

The new single from Hoobastank, “My Turn,” officially hit airwaves today. In three months we should all have Hoobastank’s new album in our hands, assuming you are fans of the alternative rock group. Click play on the video below to hear “My Turn.”
Fall Out Boy delays release of “Folie a Deux”…Why?

Does Fall Out Boy think the release day of their new record, which happens to be November 4th (otherwise known as election day), will actually effect the presidential election? Will millions of kids go out and buy the new album instead of voting? Well, who knows the answers to those questions, but the real news here is that Fall Out Boy announced today that it is delaying its new album 6 weeks, until December 16th.
Beastie Boys to plan “Get Out and Vote”

We’ve seen musicians make last second political efforts time and time again. This time around the Beastie Boys, who have endorsed Barack Obama for president, have planned a mini tour entitled “Get Out and Vote.” The tour consists of known artists Sheryl Crow, Norah Jones, Jack Johnson, Ben Harper, Tenacious D, David Crosby, and Gram Nash. It kicks off October 28th.
YouTube Joins the MP3 download business

Partnering with iTunes and Amazon’s MP3 store, YouTube is set to unleash there new puppy: an in video link to download songs in music videos. Of course we have seen a whole array of websites integrating these features to try and save the music industry but I am not so sure it will work. When people have a certain way to get music they usually stick with it, so for this to get a positive response not only will the person have to be a YouTube video watcher, but also a Amazon or iTunes customer. This may tap into a whole new market or fall flat on its face, only time will tell.
Guns N’ Roses album coming next month

Over ten years since its conception, Gun’s N’ Roses “Chinese Democracy” will finally have its turn in the spot light. So many people doubt that this album would make a release this year but in one month we will find out. Look for the “Shacklers Revenge” track to be coming soon to Rock Band 2. “Yahoo News”
