Custom Headbands, Wristbands, and Armbands.
Getting your band on tour with major bands…..
Getting noticed is extremely tough as a musician especially since their is SO MUCH music out there…. instead of calling booking agents and calling venues your head should be elsewhere! Looking for investors people that will financially support you. Today all music is politics whether you like it or not. Your band could be the best band and not be signed or the worst band and have a record deal. The best way to get noticed is doing a buy on. If you don’t know what a buy on is, it means you pay a big band for them to let you tour along side of them ….it can be anywhere from $5,000 -$90,000 depending on the band. This will ensure people being at the shows, you won’t make much money but you will definatley get your name out there! Play every show like its your last…give 100% because you never know who will be watching!

This is why the music industry is dying. Buy-on deals and payola.

I don’t think this is why the music industry is dying at all. First off to do a buy on you have to be talented, you cant just be a rich little kid. So step one is be talented and have something original to offer to your fans, step two would be get merch and work as hard as you can to sell it and save money, step 3 would be to socialize and talk to everyone at every show you go to because you never know who someone is going to know. Doing a buy on is extremely beneficial in getting your bands name out to the right people.

those might have been important points to include in the actual article.

Well, you must do all those things for investors or people to financially support you. It’s much like someone investing in a small start up company, if they don’t see potential, they will likely not invest in you. HOWEVER, the difference is, it is possible to do everything yourself and not do a buy on, it will just be much harder to get the kind of exposure that you will get with a buy on.
By the way Jordan, We are def. hitting up a GLV show before we move out of state!
